A Dutch startup creating an activity app offering small scale offline activities for students to meet new people and connect. Aimed at helping new university students feel a sense of belonging and community in their new city.

Project background

I was recommended to the cofounders of Activitree as they were looking to develop their MVP. Their MVP was very basic and didn’t really work but it had allowed them to secure some investment to develop the idea further. I was brought in to help them create a simple but functioning app with a consistent look and feel so they could relaunch in September, for the new University year in.

Logo design

First, I was asked to first design a logo for the startup.

Tree - as requested by the cofounders to play on the company name.

Hand wave - understood globally as ‘hello‘ and often the first gesture used when making a new connection. This is the concept I created around the tree.
